September Production Video

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Here is a look at my weekend in Marlborough from September 10-12th.  Our goal was to  get pick-ups for things that I missed over the summer, while also filming events at the Hebron Harvest Fair.

However, we ran into problems with the rain and lots of our plans had to change.  My friend ended upJackson coming down with me last minute and we shared a bed at my spanish teacher’s house again.

Summer Trailer Hits the Web!

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

The following is a compilation of the footage that I shot this summer, from early May until August.  I’m really happy with the way this trailer cut together.  It was a little daunting trying to figure out how to make a promotional piece with 2 hours of footage that came back.

The idea for the trailer really started with the song choice.  We recently setup our record player in our apartment, and I asked Greg if I could first listen to his Glassworks album while he played video games.  The music of Philip Glass has always been an inspiring force while shooting the film because of the work he did with Godfrey Reggio making the Qatsi trilogy.  Once I realized that this particular song worked well the footage, it all came together very quickly.  So please check it out!

HINDSIGHT – Summer Trailer

Music: Foe by Philip Glass, from Glassworks

Please share this trailer with your friends!  I’m hoping to keep interest high as I move into another fundraising campaign for the Fall portion of the film.  Thanks!

September Donor Update

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Tomorrow I have my first BFA Practicum class!  For the past 7 months, HINDSIGHT has been working by pre-approval from the BFA department to shoot early.  Most BFA films at Emerson have a summer and two semesters to work on their projects, but since my film needed to begin early in order to capture two winter seasons, I’ve been granted an extra semester.  In class tomorrow, I will present my project to the rest of the BFA students and look for initial constructive criticism.

The point of this post however, is to provide an update about the most recent supporters of HINDSIGHT.  These folks are my knight in shining armor, my guardian angels.  They deserve a big round of applause via the Internet.  Here they are:

Jeff Hild, Jeff Morris, and the Ives family.

To see the full list of HINDSIGHT supporters, check out the donor page.  Again,  I’d like to stress the importance of supporting HINDSIGHT through a donation.  In order for me to cover as many town events as I can, I need continuous support to purchase filmstock and pay for lab costs.  Ever little bit helps.  Please make a quick donation via PayPal today.  All donations are tax-deductible.

DONOR INCENTIVES

All donors will be listed in the end credits of the film.

Businesses who donate will receive a link to their website on the support page.

Donors of $100 or more will receive a free copy of the final DVD.

Donors of $500 or more receive an Associate Producer credit.

September Timelapses

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

This past weekend I was down in Marlborough for my seventh shoot. The purpose of this shoot was to get some pick-ups of Spring/Summer scenes that I knew I was missing. It was also an attempt to get some of those tricky timelapses that I always wanted during the summer. Here are a few Twitpics that I posted while around Marlborough.
Timelapse of RHAM High School Atrium
The idea of doing a timelapse from a high angle in the RHAM high school atrium was something that I’ve wanted to do since I was in 17 years old. With help from Scott Leslie, Principal of RHAM and Mr. Ceresa the Head of Facilities, I was able to borrow the lift for a few hours. Paired with the new 5.9mm wide angle lens for the Bolex, I think this will be a pretty nifty shot.

Timelapse over Route 2
A simple little timelapse of cars zooming around Route 2 in Marlborough.

Jackson with a Media Pass
I planned on doing timelapses at the fair, but unfortunately it was raining all weekend, so that never worked out. Instead, this is a picture of Jackson and the sweet Media passes that we were granted by the Hebron Lions to film over the weekend. Special thanks to Robert Carter and the Lions!
